The Big Red Golf Team continued to take positive strides in 2015.  The team consisted of eight players including senior Deshaun Smith, juniors Isaiah Herring, Isaiah Lee-Granatir, Keenan Seditz, Luke Krause, sophomore Michael Gray, and freshman Paul Mastros and Isaac Krause.

Shooting a team low average of 41.0 for the Big Red was Paul Mastros.  Paul also led the team in most statistical categories including 6 medalist honors throughout the season.  The rest of the squad finished as follows:  Isaiah Herring (48.7)  Luke Krause (50.7)  Isaiah Lee-Granatir (51.2)  Keenan Seditz (51.5)  Deshaun Smith (55.2)  Michael Gray (60.0)  Isaac Krause (60.7)

The team finished 17^th out of 23 in the Eastern District Open, 9^th out of 11 in the 5A OVAC, and 17^th out of 26 in the Sectional Tournament.  Although the finishes may not seem impressive, the team steadily improved from the start of the season and improved their team stroke average by 33 strokes by season’s end.

The team returns five letter winners next year and will once again be getting some help from the kids at Harding.  The future is bright for Big Red golf and next year’s team will have no excuses.  A veteran group of SHS golfers should make an impact on area golf.
